As the flagship resort, the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa guests enjoy some of the absolute best accommodations in Walt Disney World. This deluxe Disney resort is on the monorail line in the Magic Kingdom resort area.
The main building at the resort hosts the jaw-dropping lobby, restaurants and shops. Suites and concierge rooms are located in the main building. Approximately 867 luxurious rooms are located in six separate buildings on the immaculately landscaped grounds. The separate buildings give the Grand Floridian Hotel an uncrowded feel.
Guest rooms have about 448 square feet of space. The well appointed rooms are decorated in a Victorian theme with two queen sized beds and a day bed or a king sized bed. Rooms are furnished with an armoire, table and chairs, safe, iron and ironing board, ceiling fan, walk in closer and dryer. The rooms are lovely and well maintained, although the decor could use an update. Rooms were last refurbished in 2007. The vanity area with two sinks is separate from the bathroom. Room rates start at $540 per night.
Available views are garden, pool or lagoon/theme park. Most rooms have a patio or balcony. Most rooms sleep up to five people plus an infant in a crib. Lodge tower, concierge and dormer rooms sleep up to four. The dormer rooms are a bit smaller than most standard rooms, but are appealing due to vaulted ceiling and private balconies.
The Grand Floridian Villas from the Disney Vacation Club opened in October 2013.
Six honeymoon suites with whirlpools are in the main building. Some offer great views. Honeymoon suites only sleep two people. One, two and three bedroom suites are also available. Concierge rooms are also available and offer complimentary spread of food throughout the day, nightly turndown of your bed and the attention of the concierge staff.
The Grand Floridian Resort rooms offer opulent luxury, comfort and attentive service.
