Clean. Sleek. Modern.
The Contemporary Resort has 655 of the most stylish rooms on Walt Disney World property. The hotel also has some of the largest rooms with about 436 square feet of space, accommodating up to five people plus an infant in a crib. Rooms have two queen beds or one king and also include a day bed. Rooms have a table and chairs, hairdryer, fridge, iron and ironing board, keyed safe and a ceiling fan. Rooms rates start at $371 per night.
Rooms are located in the 14 story main tower or the three story south garden wing. Tower rooms have a balcony and first floor garden wing rooms have a patio. First floor patios are shared between rooms. There are no balconies in the garden wing. Many of the rooms have fantastic views of the Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake.
This deluxe Disney resort hotel underwent a major renovation project from 2005 to 2009, bringing the hotel from dated to sleek and hip. Dark wood, marble, modern art, dramatic lighting and subdued tones decorate the new rooms. The bathrooms are large and modern. The bathroom sinks are very large. The only complaint is that there is very little counter space in the bathrooms due to the sink design.
The north wing was demolished to make room for Bay Lake Tower, which opened in 2009. Bay Lake Tower is a 14 story high glass building housing Disney Vacation Club villas. Bay Lake Tower can be accessed via a tower from the main hotel, but you must be a guest of the Bay Lake Tower to access the bridge.
The resort also boasts a variety of suites. The 12th and 14th floors are concierge. The hotel has a convention center and a business center. The 14th story rooms and suites underwent renovations in 2013.
No matter what you are looking for, you cannot go wrong with the spacious and modern accommodations of this retreat located next door to the Magic Kingdom theme park.
