This a tough decision, but our choice for the best Disney hotel is the Disney Boardwalk Inn! The resort has an awesome location in the heart of Walt Disney World. There is easy access to a wide range of fine dining options a short distance away. Also the entertainment offerings of the Disney Boardwalk are directly outside your door.

Runner up for the best Disney resort is the Contemporary Resort, which is probably the resort with the single best location in Walt Disney World- a stone's throw away from the Magic Kingdom! The hotel is sleek and modern with the largest rooms on Disney property. Great dining and recreational offerings round out this fantastic resort hotel.

Most Romantic Disney Hotel

The most romantic Walt Disney World hotel is the Polynesian Resort. Hugging the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon with a view of Cinderella Castle, this lovely resort speaks romance to us. The Polynesian transports you to the Islands of the South Seas. The view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach is sublime.

Most Luxurious

The Grand Floridian is Disney's flagship resort. This Victorian resort is opulent, with a beautiful lobby and a lovely location on the Seven Seas Lagoon. The lobby, rooms and grounds are gorgeous, yet the resort still appeals to families. The best restaurant on Walt Disney World property, Victoria and Alberts, is in the hotel.

Best Value

Our top pick for best budget-priced accommodations is the Art of Animation Resort. As the newest Disney resort, the grounds and rooms are fresh. The theme is fun and the hotel boasts the largest pool on Disney property.

Best Theme

This one is a tie. We think that both the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge have phenomenal theming. Both resorts are also very romantic and offer excellent dining options. The Wilderness Lodge offers a rustic Northwest theme on beautiful Bay Lake. The seven story lobby is stunning with an awesome fireplace. Animal Kingdom Lodge has an equally beautiful lobby and the rooms offer views of an African savannah from your room. Bet you can't beat that anywhere else!

Best Moderately Priced

Port Orleans is our top pick of the Disney moderate hotels. We recommend Port Orleans French Quarter for ambiance and romance. The French Quarter is the smallest moderate resort which belies its intimate feeling. Opt for Port Orleans Riverside if you are seeking more dining and recreational options.

Best Disney Vacation Club Villa

Wow! This one is really a challenge. The Disney Vacation Club offers so many amazing lodging possibilities that is is difficult to choose just one! The Grand Villa in Bay Lake Tower is simply amazing! The location cannot be beat anywhere in Walt Disney World. 

By the way, Aulani Resort in Hawaii wins hands down for best Disney Vacation Club Villa outside the World! Totally awesome!!

Best Resort Pool

There are several really great pools at the Walt Disney World Resorts, but Stormalong Bay at the Disney Yacht and Beach Club wins hands down. Stormalong Bay is a three acre water recreation area with a sand bottom pool, slide, lazy river, kiddie pool and hot tubs. This will be the highlight of any kids' vacation!
