The Grand Floridian Celebrates 25 Years!The Disney Grand Floridian Resort and Spa celebrated its 25th anniversary on July 1st. Nestled on the shores of the lovely Seven Seas Lagoon, this luxurious Victorian seaside resort opened in 1988 and has set the standard as the flagship resort at Walt Disney World. The hotel has 867 rooms and 147 new Disney Vacation Club villas slated to open in October, 2013.The Disney Grand Floridian provides top notch service, AAA Five Diamond award winning dining, a full scale spa and a wide range of recreational offerings. Visit the Grand Floridian to experience the best that Disney has to offer. Resort NewsRefrigerators are being removed from Disney resort rooms due to a possible defect. Disney expects to replace all the refrigerators over the next four months. This does not affect the refrigerators in the Disney Vacation Club villas, family suites at the Art of Animation or All Star Hotels or the Fort Wilderness cabins.Rumor has it that Disney is going to replace their current refillable mug. Instead of paying a flat fee for unlimited refills, the new mugs will be purchased for refills over a selected number of days. The mugs will utilize new radio frequency identification (RFID) technology that will only permit mugs to be refilled during the days that were purchased. |
